‘Symbols of Lockdown’: Drawing of a corona model by one of the regulars from Powerhouse for women with learning disabilities
Post-lockdown projects (autumn 2020)
In a world, where singing is only allowed at a safe distance, inclusive music theatre envisions new stories and ways of telling them differently through silent sounds, careful movements and musical experiments.
I created the project ‘Symbols of Lockdown’ for Powerhouse as a way to tackle Covid-19 creatively together with women with learning disabilities. For Opera Holland Park, I co-created the project ‘Music Stories’ to reflect on isolation, distance and hope for the future. The projects share a socio-aesthetic impact: making sense of Covid and its everyday consequences through arts practice.
During these difficult times, inclusive arts methods aid mental wellbeing in a creative, safe and playful way.
